4 types of solar eclipse
WHAT IS SOLAR ECLIPSE AND ITS TYPES?
ANSWER
During the Solar Eclipse, the moon casts a shadow on part of Earth. A total solar eclipse is when the sun is outrightly blocked out. During this happenstance, the halo of gas around the Sun, called corona, can be seen.
Sometimes the Earth casts a shadow on the Moon. This is what happen during a total lunar eclipse, the Moon remains visible, but it looks dark.
TYPES OF SOLAR ECLIPSE
Total Solar Eclipse
- The total solar eclipse happens if the moon completely covers the sun, as seen from Earth.
Partial Solar Eclipse
- A partial solar eclipse usually happens when the Moon only partially blocks the disk of the Sun.
Annular Solar Eclipse
- An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon appears to be smaller than the Sun as it passes centrally across the solar disk and a bright ring, or annulus, of sunlight remains visible during the Eclipse.
Hybrid Solar Eclipse
- A hybrid solar eclipse is a very rare form of solar eclipse, this happens if the eclipse changes from annular to a total solar eclipse, and vice versa along its path.
